Step 1:
Learn about the company. Look at their website and annual report. These resources provide information on the mission and direction of the company. Review the information provided at the interview. Remember the names of the people you met then.
Step 2:
Review the requirements of the position. You may want to brush up on a few skills you know are necessary for the job.
Step 3:
Arrive to work on time and properly dressed. You want to make a good first impression. Be polite, friendly and positive.
Step 4:
Prepare to do the necessary paperwork. Make sure you have all the documents you need. These may be your birth certificate, social security card, drivers license, health forms, any work permits and any occupational licenses. Ask what you need before the first day of work.
Step 5:
Have your paper and pencil ready. Take notes on both complicated directions and everyday tasks. This is especially important if you said you were a quick learner. Write down people's names and any access codes you may need.
Tips & Warnings
Ask questions now. People are expecting it and it's better than making a mistake. Most people want to offer their expertise and it's a good way of getting to know other employees.
